North Island Lodge Reports
July 7 - 11, 2008
Things are kicking in around Langara with solid numbers of Chinook and Coho arriving for the early the portion of this trip. The first two days produced 5 Tyee, and nice ones at that. Lead by Bob Young, who after many years fishing the Langara area found the one he was looking for. I think guide Kauri Thornton was more excited than Bob racing back in to weigh the 51 lber…Nice work Bob! Those pictures are on the way. Donna and Jason Black also found a nice matching pair of Tyee at 38 and 38.5lbs. Richard Masef settled into his week long trip adding a 30 to the board, while Daniel Gormley found a 34 for the Bognar group. The Coho are more plentiful right now with a respectable average size of around 10lbs. The Westerly wind kept most guests off the Westside halibut program but numerous chicken halibut filled out the cards. I have a feeling that consistent salmon fishing is here to stay now….see you soon.
