The Outpost Reports
Aug 11 - 15, 2008
The majestic fog – shrouded Misty Isles affectionately overwhelmed the Cresnjr, Follwell, Diamond and Cafiti group of guests. And fittingly Andrew Follwell’s ‘plunge into the bay summarized the passion this group displayed for this pristine environment.
Andrew was so excited after he caught his 196 lb Halibut he could not resist testing the temperature of the water. “The water is not too bad Dan” he later replied….thanks Andrew for your courage and sense of adventure!
A storm – wracked week confined this hardy group of guests to fishing in our bays and coves but it did not break their spirit. Not to be outdone by his son Andrew, Rod Follwell landed the largest Chinook of the trip a 26 lb silver beauty. Thanks for spending some Father - Son quality time with us Rod and Andrew! The family of Perry, Tammy and Vannessa Cresnjr also braved the elements and went home with a freezer full of salmon and halibut. The Coho were plentiful ranging between 8 – 12 lbs. Emmanuel Diamond and Pierre Cafiti both from Montreal also had the time of their life limiting out on Chinook, Coho and Halibut.
During the evening we all sat out on the deck and watched the fog slowly enter into the bay. It was like a scene out of Pirates of the Caribbean, the only thing missing was the Black Pearl emerging slowly through the fog and mist! Once again the magic of the Misty Isles made this trip a memorable experience and adventure….have a great summer everyone….see you all next season!
