Great balls of fire this was one hot trip!!!!! The Forrey, Redman, Baumann, Torbeck and Grieve guests were blessed with five days of sunshine, calm seas and incredible fishing. Our guides released over 200 springs in one day! The guests were picking and choosing the size of Chinook they wanted to retain. The guides were experimenting with all types of bait and catching salmon with everything imaginable…..it was a complete frenzy of activity. Guides Ken (Kenny B) Beatty and Steve (The Log) Cote have over 30 years of experience between them and they had never experienced anything like the run of salmon we had during this trip!

Young Robert B. Torbeck, coached by Kevin (Kermode) Sturgess, caught and released a 44 lb Chinook hooked at Selveson Point on a small herring in 76 feet of water. It was an epic battle lasting 43 minutes; the fish took 2 long fast 100 yard runs followed by a series of slow deep runs. This Chinook had a very strong desire to live and was successfully released unharmed.

Chris Forrey, coached by Steve (The Log) Cote caught a 35 lb Chinook hooked at Selveson Point using a cut plug herring in 42 feet of water. Gerald Grieve, coached by Robert (Picasso) Gordy landed a 34 lb Chinook with his trusted fly rod…..Gerald was the top angler of the trip with 4 Chinook, 4 Coho, 2 Hali’s and 3 Rock Fish. Great job gentlemen…..you will be telling fish stories for a long time coming…..hope you have allot of freezer space at home….see you soon!
