North Island Lodge "Dam fine fishing"

Recently had the pleasure of fishing with Bimmer and Niels Ulsen of Castoro Cellars from San Miguel Californian ( www.castorocellars.com ) With a few productive days fishing under our belts we decided to spend bit of time in a location hoping to hook into a nice one. Sure enough fishing in Bruin Bay produced for us. With not 20 min left in the day Bimmers rod buckles over and there it goes. Screaming line for a good 30 seconds ... we've got way too much line out. The fish had blasted off towards the west side of Lucy Island. We chased down some line and a great fight ensued. After numerous deep runs and cautiously watching Bimmer keeping her rod bent over as the fish hunkered down for a good 5min we finally netted the beast.Not 5min from North Island Lodge ... its still possible to grab some incredible Chinook Salmon! Congratulations on the 45lb Chinook release Bimmer and we look forward to hosting you again in the future!Thanks to Ryan Chamberland who came over to take some exterior photos and assist with the release. This fish is back in the waters to spawn another day.
