Mother Nature has been calling the shots at The Outpost this past week. Frequent rain, bigger water, and challenging sea conditions have kept our guides from reaching many of their usual offshore grounds. Despite the weather, the team has continued to adapt and make the most of every opportunity.
The Chinook fishing remains strong, with plenty of beautiful salmon in the low- to mid-20-pound range coming to the boat. Each day has delivered its share of quality fish, along with the feeling that the next bite could be something truly special.

The Coho are also beginning to arrive. We’re seeing more fish with each trip, and their numbers should continue to build as we move further into the season.
Whenever the weather has provided a window to venture offshore, the bottom fishing has been excellent. Halibut and a healthy variety of bottom fish have kept rods bent and guests smiling as they return to the dock.
The forecast is beginning to look more promising, and everyone is eager to get back onto our favourite offshore grounds. With the Chinook continuing to produce and the Coho numbers building, we have a feeling there is plenty of great fishing still ahead.
