The Outpost Report: July 18, 2008

July 18, 2008

Extreme weather and heavy seas prevailed over the weekend but the Modern Machinery Exclusive group of guests remained optimistic and their determination to conquer the elements was admirable.

Frank Chandler Jr, coached by guide Brent (Boat 4) Maracle, caught a 34 lb Chinook at Taylor Shoal in 73 feet of water on a white death hootchie. The silver bullet exploded on a long run and Frank’s performance on the rod and in heavy seas was brilliant. Ernie Johnson, coached by Kevin (Kermode) Sturgess, also battled the elements when he caught his 33 lb Chinook in 83 feet of water on a 602 spoon. Tyee pins were also awarded to Monte Weeden – 31.5 lbs and Wilson Cantrell - 30 lbs.
